Dear Parents, Students and Citizens of Frenship ISD,

Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year in Frenship ISD.  Last year was an incredible year for our students, teachers, coaches, and sponsors in terms of academic and extracurricular accomplishments. Our students’ academic achievements include, but are not limited to, winning district in the UIL Academic competition, winning multiple awards in our CTE programs, and all student groups performing at exemplary levels on all of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills.  Our students’ extracurricular accomplishments include such things as sending the band and the golf team to state competition, with the baseball team nearly doing the same, every athletic program making the playoffs, the agricultural program once again winning the Golden Horizon award, which recognizes the top agricultural programs in the state, and numerous recognitions of coaches and sponsors.

As we look at the achievements of this year, we certainly need to have pride in the outstanding achievements of our students and staff, but we must also recognize that Frenship did not become an outstanding district overnight.  Our successes are due in great part to the efforts of those who came before us, and with this being our 75th Anniversary as a district it is an opportune time to thank them for the foundation they left for us.  Isaac Newton once said of his own accomplishments that “If I have seen further than others it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.”  This statement sums up a major contributing factor to the success of our district.  We truly stand on the shoulders of giants in the form of great community leaders, dedicated school leaders, outstanding teachers, and wonderful role models who worked hard to ensure that Frenship would be an outstanding place for children to grow and be educated.

It is my commitment to you, the students, parents, and citizens of Frenship ISD, that with the advent of the 2010-2011 school year, we will work hard to honor the efforts of those who came before us.  To honor them is to improve upon what they have left us.  We will do so by continuing to strive for excellence in all of our endeavors, to provide students will opportunities to excel beyond the classroom, and to hold up ourselves with integrity in all that we do.
